Randomness

My list of random things to know (or wish you didn’t) about me:

I love the color red. Having a pair of red summer sneakers from LL Bean is heaven. I’ve also got more than one red sweater.

I’d rather wear sneakers than any other shoe. Except in the summer, tevas rock my world! This past summer I discovered Mary Jane Crocs (I got married in them!). They were super comofortable.

I’ve never been able to wear high heels. Not only am I too tall, I am too clumsy.

I wish I made more time to scrapbook. I didn’t write “had” time because I could make more time and sometimes I chose to do it and others I don’t.

I love family pictures. LOVE THEM.

I love to read. Always  have. I thought I read alot until I met RP. Now, not so much. Its part of his profession, but still…he puts me to shame.

I consider myself having grown up in a matriarchal family. Male family members seemed to die off first and my mother is one of three sisters who had a total of nine grandchildren of which seven of us are females. Strong women were always present in my life.

I had a stable and safe childhood. I consider myself lucky that way. My parents are still married after nearly 43 years. (though the jury is still out for me if they are happy, I’d describe them as ‘resigned’ at this point)

I was a Women’s Studies major in college. In the late 80’s it was a cutting edge academic discipline. I got to take classes in all kinds of department to learn about women. I loved it.

Now I am studying military history. Go figure.

My first kiss was at 13 and I was very disappointed. I remember looking over his shoulder thinking, “This is IT???”

Luckily I’ve been lucky to have kissed many fine kissers since that day. Both men and women. RP is a fantastic kisser.

I’ve been, uh, intimate with both men and women and yes, I know how many. I can count them on two hands. I think.

It’s not true that when you sleep with someone of the same sex, you know what to do because your body is the same as theirs. Everyone is different.

That’s like saying that all men like the same thing in bed. That’s not true, either.

I love good Merlot and Sam Adam’s Cherry Wheat Beer. I get buzzed easily and turn red after a couple sips of alcohol.

I need to eat first thing in the morning. I feel ill if I don’t. I have to have protein first thing or I am useless!

I do not drink coffee.

I love the smell of it, though, it’s comforting.

I once tried to move to Boulder, Colorado with a friend, but it didn’t work. A year after we did that, she died in a car accident at the age of 23. I was heartbroken.

I’d work at a summer camp every summer if I could.

My first job in high school was being a lifeguard on a local army base. We used to use baby oil to tan ourselves (it was the 80’s!).

I can’t sit in the sun for long periods now.

I am pretty sure after I recover from surgery I want to run a 1/2 marathon someday. (Wait, did I really just say that?)

I am still fascinated by living with a man. All the little and big things. I wonder if it will ever get old.
